Hamilton verliest van atleet Farah in Britse verkiezing

Mercedes-coureur Lewis Hamilton is in eigen land niet uitgeroepen tot Sportpersoonlijkheid van het Jaar. De Brit moest de Sports Personality Of The Year (SPOTY) laten aan atleet Mo Farah, de wereldkampioen op de 10.000 meter. Farah ontving 83.534 stemmen. Hamilton legde met 60.627 stemmen beslag op de zesde plaats in deze verkiezing. De wereldkampioen Formule 1 reageerde overigens sportief op de 'nederlaag' tegen Farah.
