Brawn gaat niet tornen aan de lengte van Grands Prix

De Formule 1 staat open voor een andere indeling van een Grand Prix-weekend, maar aan de lengte van de races zal in elk geval niets veranderen. Dat liet sportief directeur Ross Brawn aan Sky Sports F1 weten. Het format met twee vrije trainingen van ieder anderhalf uur op de vrijdag staat ter discussie, maar de wedstrijden zelf worden niet ingekort of verlengd.

Brawn legt uit: "De lengte van de Grands Prix is precies goed. Niet te lang of te kort, het weet je vast te houden. We willen dat races de tijd krijgen om zich te ontwikkelen en te ontvouwen, met in het ideale scenario een veelvoud aan hoogtepunten en een spannende climax aan het einde. Ik denk dan ook niet dat we iets aan de lengte van de wedstrijden zullen veranderen. We kunnen andere dingen doen om de Grands Prix te verbeteren dan ingrijpend aan het format te sleutelen."

"De kwalificatie werkt momenteel ook vrij goed. Alleen de vrije trainingen op vrijdag staan ter discussie. Hebben we twee sessies nodig of kunnen we het ook met één training in de middag af? Een factor die daarin meespeelt is het aantal races op de kalender. Wanneer dat aantal toeneemt moeten we misschien het Grand Prix-format wijzigen om de druk op de teams wat te verlichten."

Open technische keuring

Een van de dingen die de Formule 1 overweegt is de invoering van een open technische keuring, waarbij de teams de auto's voor hun pitboxen uit moeten stallen voor een scutineering waar de fans bij mogen zijn. "De fans komen altijd op de eerste plaats. Zo dicht mogelijk bij de actie en de coureurs komen is iets dat we vaak te horen krijgen als we het publiek om verbeterpunten vragen", aldus Brawn.

"Dat is essentieel voor de fans. Dus kunnen we gedurende een raceweekend iets doen om de fans dichter bij de auto's te brengen? Een van de voorstellen is om een open scrutineering in te voeren. Dat doen ze bij Le Mans ook en daar is het een groot succes. De fans bezoeken het massaal en ze kunnen de wagens en techniek vanuit allerlei hoeken bekijken. Wij verkennen nu of dit ook een optie voor ons zou kunnen zijn, maar verder ben ik vrij conservatief wat het raceformat betreft. Op dat vlak voorzie ik geen grote aanpassingen."

Ik zou de lengte van Halo beperken tot formaatje "teenslipper" ten eerste, en ten tweede die sloffen uit de jaren 70 weer terug willen zien!
Verder 2 vleugels voor en een vleugel achter(Allen uit 1 deel bestaand.).
Wellicht wordt het dan weer leuk..?

  De sloffen uit de jaren 70.... Nee de huidige banden zijn echt te smal.... Als je het mij vraagt waren die in de jaren 70 echt niet breder... Kan alleen de maat zo niet vinden op internet maar als jij het verschil wel weet hoor ik het graag...
  
  @NEPPATSREV er ligt een fatsoenlijke motor in! eentje met een bult vermogen en een hoop koppel... Dat kon van die v10 en v8 niet gezegd worden... Een gemiddelde straat diesel heeft nog meer koppel dan die oude v8 / v10... Dat jij alles vast hangt aan geluid kan ik niets aan doen maar kwa performance zijn de huidige motoren super...

eigenlijk boeit me niet dat open technische keuring... mijn part zeggen ze dat ze vrijdag volledig in gaanzetten door test drivers... :) opvlak van races is het vaak saai :p
Ben bang sinds de 3 motoren nog saaier gaat worden, :)

  Wat is er dan leuk om een technische keuring te gaan bekijken als fan?
  Je ziet alleen oppervlakkige dingen, ze gaan echt niet die turbo helemaal uit elkaar schroeven.

  Als je er als fan bij kan kan een concurrent dat ook. Je moet maar eens zien hoe krampachtig diverse teams altijd vanalles proberen af te schermen. Newey heeft er zelfs hele strategie voor ontwikkeld deedhij laatst uit de doeken.

Door de belachelijke 3 motorenregel kunnen ze net zo goed dit jaar al een VT op Vrijdag schrappen. Componenten sparen door minimaal kilometers te maken is helaas de nieuwe F1 geworden.
