Red Bull Racing in zee met dataspecialist Kx Systems

Het team van Red Bull Racing heeft een nieuwe partner weten te strikken. De Oostenrijkse renstal heeft zich verzekerd van de diensten van dataspecialist Kx Systems. Dat bedrijft moet ervoor zorgen dat het proces van data-analyse bij Red Bull Racing komend seizoen gestroomlijnd verloopt.

In de hedendaagse Formule 1 is er geen gebrek aan informatie. Elke auto is uitgerust met honderden sensoren. Elke run levert dan ook een flinke dosis data op en Kx Systems gaat Red Bull Racing dit jaar helpen om die informatie zo snel mogelijk op een zo goed mogelijke manier te verwerken.

Matt Cadieux van Red Bull Racing laat weten: "De Formule 1 is een door data gedreven sport, absoluut. Het proces van het ontwikkelen van een auto gedurende het seizoen en het vinden van performance tijdens een raceweekend is afhankelijk van de juiste informatie."

"Dat betekent in eerste instantie de data vanuit de auto, daar moeten we van leren en die lessen moeten we vervolgens omzetten in concrete verbeteringen op het circuit. Breder getrokken dienen we de data uit de windtunnel, CFD en andere middelen in de fabriek goed doorgronden."

Vorig jaar liet Red Bull Racing juist op dat laatste vlak steekjes vallen. Correlatieproblemen tussen de data uit de windtunnel en de werkelijkheid lagen ten grondslag aan de matige seizoensstart van het team. De Oostenrijkse renstal is vastberaden om in 2018 beter aan het seizoen te beginnen.

Even op Wiki gekeken, maar dit is een serieus bedrijf met o.a Wall Street en de Amerikaanse overheid als klant.

Ach kom op, Heel het seizoen was matig. Elke fan en bookie was het er mee eens dat ze zowieso 2e werden.

  Nee laatste. Het viel me vanaf het begin al vies tegen. Na het testen wist ik al dat Ferrari sneller was als RB.

  Maar misschien was het hele seizoen van el matig omdat ze in het begin achterliepen. Daar naast zijn ze heel vaak uitgevallen door de motor, maar die komt natuurlijk bij Renault vandaan en daar kunnen ze bij rbr weinig aan doen.

Chassis is oké, correlatie is oké, nu die rukmotor nog en Max heeft ’t perfecte raamwerk te pakken om een gooi naar het WK te doen.
