Team Lotus put voor test- en reservecoureurs uit GP2-team

Team Lotus benoemt geen vaste opvolger voor reserverijder Fairuz Fauzy. In plaats daarvan biedt de Maleisische renstal de coureurs van hun GP2-team AirAsia de gelegenheid om af en toe mee te draaien bij de Formule 1-renstal.

Dat bevestigde een woordvoerder van Team Lotus tegenover Reuters. “De GP2-coureurs van AirAsia zullen test- en reservecoureurs voor ons zijn. Twee jongens krijgen de mogelijkheid om op die manier het gat tussen de GP2 en de Formule 1 te overbruggen.”

    Lijkt me ook veel logischer. Reserverijder zijn in de huidige F1 slaat eigenlijk helemaal nergens op. Wanneer een coureur van een team uitvalt is het niet eens zeker dat de reserverijder hem gaat vervangen, bovendien moet je hem ook af en toe laten \&quot;oefenen\&quot;, wat niet echt goed is voor de vaste rijders. Verder betreffende Fairuz Fauzy, hij heeft mij geen enkel moment de indruk gegeven over voldoende talent te beschikken om ooit een vaste F1 coureur te worden. In de 5 vrijdag trainingen die hij heeft mogen rijden was hij gemiddeld 3,5 seconden trager als de vaste Lotus coureur.
