Nico Rosberg zou comeback maken voor GP in Las Vegas

Nico Rosberg heeft meermaals door laten schemeren dat hij zich niet geroepen voelt om ooit een comeback in de Formule 1 te maken. De Duitser hield de koningsklasse van de sport voor gezien nadat hij in 2016 de wereldtitel had veroverd. Een terugkeer is niet aan de orde.

Of toch wel? Rosberg maakt nu een uitzondering. In een vraag-en-antwoord sessie op Twitter kreeg hij de vraag welke Grand Prix hij graag terug op de Formule 1-kalender zou willen zien. In eerste instantie antwoordde hij Zuid-Afrika, maar na korte bedenktijd deed hij een andere suggestie.

"Las Vegas!", schreeuwde Rosberg uit. "Dat is het absolute summum. Dat is het hoogst haalbare. Las Vegas moeten ze terug op de kalender zetten. Stel je eens voor, een alles beslissende seizoensfinale in Las Vegas… Dat zou zeer speciaal zijn. Daar zou ik een comeback voor maken."

    Wie mist Rosberg? Ik niet. Kleurloze coureur die best een goed potje kan sturen, maar verder een saaie kampioen.

      ik vond het ook jammer dat hij vertrok, het wegvallen van die team-interne strijd bij MB is toch jammer, de aanvaringen tussen die 2 in Nico's laatste jaar waren best vermakelijk. Qua talent vind ik Lewis een fractie beter, maar toch knap dat het Rosberg desondanks gelukt was om kampioen te worden naast Lewis, dat zie ik Bottas nog niet doen, dat is toch een flinke stap terug tov Nico.

      lol kleurloze coureur, Rosberg zat zeer dicht tegen Lewis aan zo kleurloos was hij dus wel oh ja zen hond kwam mss net iets minder in de media.

      Maar goed voor mij mag die comeback ook achterwege blijven, vermoed dat Rosberg tevreden is met zen titel en dat die extra percentjes er gewoon niet meer zijn.

      Ik! Ik had hem graag zijn titel zien verdedigen tegen Lewis. Ik vond Bottas maar flets maar goed, hij was dan ook nieuw. Maar het was geen vooruitgang t.o.v. Rosberg.
      Ik had nog wel een jaartje koude oorlog willen zien tussen Lewis en Rosberg!

      Nee, Rosberg was hartstikke goed, je wordt niet zomaar WK terwijl je Hamilton moet verslaan. Nico was een topper.

    Rosberg doet rationeel maar was juist altijd emotioneel, net als Vettel. Als het spannend wordt, wordt Rosberg zenuwachtig! gaaf! Bottas is echter minder snel en zeker niet emotioneel. Eigenlijk erg saai dus. Ik had het erg leuk gevonden om Rosberg aangevallen te zien door Max. dan was de spanning hem zeker te veel geworden. Uiteindelijk willen we Emotie zien!

    Ik mis hem niet als coureur. Zie liever dat hij een soort Paul di Resta rol overneemt bij F1 reporting.

    Probleem is dat hij zich onbetrouwbaar heeft gemaakt door z'n Mercedes contract af te breken en Mercedes z'n wereldkampioen status niet volledig ten gelde heeft kunnen maken (los van het Bottas probleem). Dus er zullen weinig teams staan te springen om hem weer binnenboard te halen.

    Beetje vage redenatie: Vegas het hoogst haalbare? Hoezo?
    Ik ken die baan niet heel goed, maar om dat nou in verband te brengen met je mogelijke comeback, dat is nog steeds raar als je het niet beter onderbouwt.
    Of gaat het om de glitter en glamour, om alles superdelux te hebben? Daar is Rosberg wel het mannetje naar, natuurlijk.

    Als ik afgelopen seizoen in ogenschouw neem, dan had ik hem een serieuze kans gegeven om zijn titel met succes te prolongeren, ik denk dat Nico afgelopen seizoen beter met de Mercedes om had gegaan dan Lewis en al helemaal als Bottas. Tel daarbij de fouten Ferrari/Vettel op, dan weet ik niet of Lewis afgelopen seizoen kampioen had geworden
