F1 Live in afgeslankte vorm naar vijf steden in 2018

De Formule 1 organiseert dit jaar vijf uitvoeringen van F1 Live, zo heeft commercieel directeur Sean Bratches bevestigd. Marseille, Berlijn, Milaan, Sjanghai en Miami zullen in 2018 gastheer zijn voor een grote Formule 1-demo. Londen vormde vorig jaar het decor van de primeur van F1 Live.

Daar verleenden alle teams hun medewerking aan. De edities van dit jaar zullen minder groots aangepakt worden, zo liet Bratches weten aan Auto Motor und Sport. "Dergelijke PR-evenementen zijn belangrijk voor de Formule 1. De volgende evenementen zullen echter van minder grote omvang zijn. We plannen iets voor Marseille, Berlijn, Milaan, Sjanghai en Miami, maar dan niet met zoveel auto's als in Londen."

"Wij geloven wel dat dit contact met het publiek buiten de races om van groot belang is voor de Formule 1. We kunnen zodoende een boodschap overbrengen op mensen die we anders niet zouden bereiken. Er hing altijd een zweem van exclusiviteit rond de Formule 1, het was alleen toegankelijk voor mensen met interesse voor de sport. Hetzelfde geldt voor sponsors. Er is veel belangstelling van bedrijven die nog niet actief zijn in de Formule 1."

In de paddock heerst wat onvrede over de plannen van Liberty, die vooralsnog alleen maar geld kosten. Bratches: "Wanneer je in een wereld terecht komt die zo slecht vermarkt is als de Formule 1, dan moet je eerst investeringen doen. Er waren voorheen geen afdelingen voor sponsors, digitale media, marketing, communicatie, de regels. Die hebben we allemaal op poten moeten zetten en er komt een tijd dat iedereen dat zal gaan waarderen."

De eerste editie van F1 Live in Londen in de week voorafgaand aan de Britse Grand Prix op Silverstone in 2017 trok meer dan 100.000 toeschouwers. Mercedes-coureur Lewis Hamilton was de enige rijder die ontbrak bij het evenement.

wat een afgang vond ik dat, F1 Live. rijders door elkaar, geen ruimte om een sprint te trekken.
Doornbos haalde op de Coolsingel nog rustig de 300kmh in Rotterdam.

  Doornbos haalde op de Coolsingel nog rustig de 300kmh in Rotterdam.

  Ik vraag me oprecht af hoeveel man daar op af zou komen. Ik denk niet dat we zoveel fans hier in NL hebben dat het interessant is om het hier naartoe te halen.

  Bij de City racing events kwamen er zeker 100.000 bezoekers op af. Gooi er minimaal 1 top team en enkele subtoppers bij en natuurlijk Max en dat aantal verdubbeld gemakkelijk. Kijk naar eens hoe populair de spaar acties met Max bij de Jumbo zijn? De kaarten voor de Racing Days en de Max speelgoed autotjes waren niet aan te slepen.

  Precies wat Rogier Hier zegt. Denk dat er ontzettend veel animo voor is. Maar de eerste 3 jaar sws niet in Rotterdam. En als ze F1 naar Rotterdam willen halen dan aub geen demootjes meer, maar een echter volwaardige GP door de straten van Rotterdam. Sign me up!!!

Geen enkel probleem had ik met die 'zweem van exclusiviteit' die rond de f1 hing, heb persoonlijk niets met die zinloze demo's en donuts...
Organiseer liever een paar keer per seizoen grote in-season tests op diverse circuits, waarbij alle teams aanwezig zijn. Combineer zo het nuttige met het aangename (vd fans).
