Formule 1 bespaart geld met nieuwe belastingconstructie

Formule 1-eigenaar Liberty Media heeft een gunstig belastingtarief bedongen bij de Britse belastingdienst, zo schrijven Christian Sylt en Caroline Reid in de Telegraph. De nieuwe afspraken besparen de Formule 1 een paar miljoen pond aan belasting.

De Formule 1 maakte altijd gebruik van een ingenieuze constructie om zo min mogelijk belasting af te moeten dragen. De firma sluisde een deel van de winsten weg via offshorebedrijven waardoor de winstbelasting veel lager uitviel dan normaal gesproken het geval was geweest.

Over het afgelopen decennium heeft de in Groot-Brittannië gevestigde Formule 1 zo'n 4 miljard pond winst gemaakt. Daarover is nog geen honderd miljoen pond aan belasting afgedragen. Dat komt neer op een belastingtarief van rond de 2 procent, terwijl het standaardtarief gemiddeld 25,8 procent bedroeg in die jaren.

De Formule 1 wist de belastingen te drukken door rente te betalen over leningen die het bij dochterbedrijven in belastingparadijzen had afgesloten. Zoiets is niet langer toegestaan. In Groot-Brittannië is een wet ingevoerd waardoor dergelijke leningen nog maar voor maximaal 30 procent aftrekbaar zijn voor de belastingen.

Dus moest Liberty op zoek naar een nieuwe regeling met de Britse belastingdienst. Daar zijn nu afspraken over gemaakt en die zijn niet ongunstig voor de Formule 1. Dacht de koningsklasse van de sport eerder tussen de 10 en 15 miljoen pond aan belasting te moeten betalen over 2017, met de nieuwe constructie ligt dat eerder tussen de 5 en 10 miljoen pond.

  Ze hebben zeker een Nederlands dochterbedrijf geopend en sluizen zo een deel van het geld via Nederland belastingvrij weer terug naar Engeland? Ik stem voor echte Hollandse gridgirls. Van die mooie lange hollandse rondborstige meiden met lange benen.

  @M BENZ.... Wat mogen ze dan dokken? Het is nou eenmaal zo dat als ze geen afspraken maken een bedrijf als de F1 wel verhuist naar een ander land welke wel gunstig is. Dan zouden ze niets meer binnen halen aan belasting geld...

  In Nederland gebeurt precies hetzelfde. Voor grote bedrijven maken we, wat betreft belastingtarieven, graag uitzonderingen. Ik denk zelfs dat het hier nog vele malen erger is dan in GB.

  Dit gebeurt echt overal. En in Nederland heb je zeker hele mooie constructies.
  
  Sommige mensen vinden het schande. Ik kijk er toch anders tegen aan. Als je een eigenbedrijf runt. Dan weet je pas echt wat belasting betalen is. En zeg eerlijk als je met een eerlijke constructie minder belasting hoeft te betalen dan zou je het toch ook doen..?

  @Dollebrekel, bedrijven maken gebruik van de mogelijkheden die een land ze biedt. Prima wat mij betreft. En inderdaad, de belastingen die bedrijven 'mogen' afdragen zorgt voor gematigd investeren in nieuwe productiemiddelen.

De twee grooste problemen die we wereldwijd moeten bestrijden zijn de groeiende economische en politieke macht van de 1 %. En klimaatverandering.

Dit is weer een voorbeeld hoe de elite de rest van de maatschapij belazeren. Het is weer een kwestie van het privatiseren van de winst. En verliezen zijn voor de publieke sector.

Met verliezen in dit geval is het dat een overheid het financieel mogelijk moet maken op een GP te kunnen organiseren. Of financiele steun geven aan een circuit die in financiele nood verkeert (silverstone).

En de winsten van de formule 1 worden gewoon niet belast. Maar die zelfde formule 1 maakt wel gebruik van alle dingen die met belastinggeld zijn gemaakt. bv.medische voorzieningen, vliegvelden, wegen, de circuits zelf, etc etc.

Kapitaal word steeds minder belast maar arbeid wel en steeds meer. En als nu mogen we steeds meer concurreren met goedkope arbeid. bv Roemenen, en andere goedkope arbeid ut oost Europa. Het is een race naar de bodem. Het is niet voor niets dat er steeds meer zzp`s zijn. Dat is omdat daar geen pensioenvoorzieningen voor zijn, werk op en je kunt vertrekken. met andere woorden alles wat is opgebouwd (sociale voorzieningen) word steeds meer afgebroken. Niet alle in 1 keer. maar beetje bij beetje. want anders valt het te veel op en komen mensen in opstand.
