Renault partner van Franse Grand Prix op Paul Ricard

Renault vertolkt komend seizoen niet alleen de rol van team en motorleverancier in de Formule 1. De Franse autofabrikant heeft zich namelijk ook als partner aan de Grand Prix van Frankrijk op Paul Ricard verbonden. Dit houdt onder meer in dat het logo en de naam van Renault goed vertegenwoordigd zullen zijn rondom het circuit en dat het Franse merk veel gasten mag en zal uitnodigen voor het evenement.

Renault-directeur Cyril Abiteboul: "De Franse Grand Prix vormt een hoogtepunt voor sportliefhebbers en Formule 1-fans in het bijzonder, maar zeker ook voor het Franse volk. Deze samenwerking is een geweldige mogelijkheid voor de Renault Group om toewijding richting de autosport en steun voor de Grand Prix van Frankrijk te tonen. Dit magnifieke evenement is de ideale gelegenheid voor ons team om onze competitiviteit en ambities in de koningsklasse van de autosport te demonstreren."

De Grand Prix van Frankrijk keert in 2018 na negen jaar afwezigheid terug op de Formule 1-kalender. De laatste Franse Grand Prix dateert uit 2008, op het circuit van Magny-Cours. Felipe Massa won die race namens Ferrari. Paul Ricard was in 1990 voor het laatst gastheer voor een Grand Prix, met de korte versie welteverstaan. De laatste Formule 1-race op het volledige circuit in de buurt van Le Castellet vond plaats in 1985.

  Liefst nog na de gridpenalty lekker die motor overrevven in de race en beide RB's met een grote rookwolk langs de kant! Dat zal ze leren! ;-)
