Webber verwent 150.000 toeschouwers met demo in Bangkok

Red Bull Racing-coureur Mark Webber heeft een Formule 1-demo gegeven in de Thaise hoofdstad Bankok. De show maakte onderdeel uit van de viering van 84ste verjaardag van de koning van Thailand. Op de demo op Rajdamnoen Avenue kwamen ongeveer 150.000 toeschouwers af.

Er wordt ook gesproken over een mogelijke Grand Prix in Thailand. Chalerm Yoovidhya deed die suggestie vorige maand. Samen met zijn vader Chaleo is hij voor 51 procent eigenaar van Red Bull en de successen van het Formule 1-team hebben hem trots gemaakt. Chalerm Yoovidhya is via Cavallino Motors ook Ferrari-dealer. De massale opkomst bij de demo van Webber in de straten van Bangkok toont in elk geval aan dat de Formule 1 in Thailand zeer populair is.
