D'Ambrosio geeft steun van sponsoring toe

Jerome D'Ambrosio geeft toe dat zijn stoeltje bij Virgin Racing mede is mogelijk gemaakt door sponsoring vanuit zijn thuisland België. Een duidelijk en open verhaal, en misschien wel opmerkelijk gezien de politiek die altijd speelt in de koningsklasse. Teambaas John Booth meldde bij de bevestiging van de Belg namelijk dat hij is verkozen op basis van zijn verdienste.

D'Ambrosio tegenover RTL België: "Ik ben verkozen op basis van talent, maar natuurlijk speelt het commerciële plaatje ook een belangrijke rol. Er zijn mensen, partners in België die mij ondersteunen, net als Gravity Sports en Eric Boullier. Het is ons gelukt om het pakket rond te krijgen zodat we bij Virgin konden tekenen."
