Auto van Force India kleurt ook in 2018 weer roze

Force India is een van de twee teams die hun bolide voor het komende seizoen nog niet hebben gepresenteerd. Scuderia Toro Rosso is het andere team dat dit nog niet gedaan heeft, maar het opleidingsteam van Red Bull heeft afgelopen week wel een foto van de filmdag met de STR13 op Misano met de wereld gedeeld en telt dus eigenlijk niet mee.

Van de Force India VJM11 is nog helemaal niets bekend of uitgelekt. De grote vraag is dan ook wat de Indiase renstal gaat doen met de auto. Het team wordt omgeven door geruchten over een mogelijke overname, al hebben ze die verhalen zelf naar het rijk der fabelen verwezen. Ondertussen speelt op de achtergrond ook nog steeds de wens voor een andere teamnaam, al is daar nog geen officieel verzoek voor ingediend bij de Formule 1 Commissie.

Vandaag werd in de paddock van het Circuit de Catalunya nabij Barcelona iets meer duidelijk over de kleurstelling van Force India voor 2018. Bij het uitpakken van wat onderdelen had de Indiase renstal een lading wing-end plates voor de achtervleugel tussen de geparkeerde vrachtwagens neergezet en die waren roze met daarop de sponsornamen Telcel en Quaker State, exact hetzelfde als vorig jaar. Dat duidt erop dat Force India opnieuw voor een roze livery heeft gekozen.

Het team hulde zich vlak voor aanvang van vorig seizoen in het roze na de komst van watertechnologiebedrijf BWT als grote sponsor. Alles wijst erop dat Force India voor dit jaar geen ingrijpende veranderingen aan de livery van plan is. De monteurs werken in de paddock van het Circuit de Catalunya met dezelfde teamkleding als vorig jaar en dragen roze gekleurde mutsjes en ook de wand met sponsornamen achter de pitbox is felroze gekleurd.

Kortom, de kans is groot dat Force India aanstaande maandag een roze VJM11 presenteert.

  Maar dat was meer een promotie-ding. Sean Bull Designs die het voorstelt in de hoop er wat werk mee te scoren en Force India die materie vindt om met fans te bespreken.

  Ik ook, ik vind het echt ongekend gaaf die Force India v vorig jaar. In het echt ook echt n brute bak waarbij de roze livery de auto versterkt en zeker niet afbreekt. Ik verwacht wel n roze maar niet exact dezelfde livery.

  Een klassieke zelfs, de Porsche 917 Pink Pig was een icoon, maar er waren er wel meer, wat NASCAR’s in de loop der tijd, Er was volgens mij ook een deels roze Brabham. Ik vind t wel gaaf/racey
