Hyperzachte compound debuteert bij GP van Monaco

Bandenleverancier Pirelli heeft de drie zachtste compounds uit het assortiment genomineerd voor de Grand Prix van Monaco. Dat houdt in dat de hyperzachte band in het prinsdom voor het eerst in actie komt tijdens een raceweekend.

Pirelli had reeds aangekondigd de hyperzachte compound beschikbaar de stellen voor de Canadese Grand Prix, maar toen moest de Italiaanse bandenfabrikant de bandenkeuze voor Monaco nog bekendmaken. Zoals verwacht neemt de bandenleverancier de superzachte, ultrazachte en hyperzachte banden mee naar Monte Carlo.

Elke coureur heeft dertien setjes banden tot zijn beschikking. Drie setjes daarvan zijn al ingevuld door Pirelli; één van de zachtste compound voor Q3 en één setje van de twee hardere compounds waarvan de rijders er tijdens de race één moeten gebruiken.

      Dan rijden ze allemaal op de medium om er vervolgens een hele race mee te rijden.

    Kan niet wachten tot ze volgend jaar de ultrahypersoft introduceren. En dan met Roombotergoud als kleur op de wangen.

    Tja,de US bleek vorig-jaar eigenlijk een flop. (Ging veel te lang mee) Al begrijp ik nog steeds niet goed wat een extra compound toevoegt... Als men (Pirelli) de compounds domweg aanpast/verbeterd ,dwz zachter maakt en/of de degradation/slijtage groter maakt lijkt een extra compound beetje onzinnig....

      weet je wat het probleem is het is nooit goed. toen pirelli begon was alles te zacht en de slijtage te hoog. nu gaan ze weer te lang mee. ze kunnen niet winnen.

      enige wat ze zouden kunnen veranderen is elke weekend een soft medium en hard mee nemen. wat deze dan echt zijn staat er dan los van. in monaco is het dan de ultra hyper mega super soft en op een andere baan een hardere versie. Dit zou het voor de gemidelde kijker makkelijker maken.

      Pirelli's technische afdeling is het met @bschuit eens... maar ja, Pirelli's marketing wil meer (en wilde zelfs nog meer types dan er nu zijn).
