Havaianas betreedt als tweede slippermerk de Formule 1

Force India heeft een toepasselijke 'halo'-sponsor aan zich gebonden. Net als McLaren met Gandys heeft de Indiase renstal een slippermerk gestrikt om de beugel boven de hoofden van de rijders te sieren, namelijk Havaianas. De naam van de fabrikant van teenslippers prijkt bij bepaalde Grands Prix op de halo van de VJM11, te beginnen komend weekend in Australië.

Force India-directeur Otmar Szafnauer: "We zijn verguld om Havaianas in de Formule 1 te brengen. En waar kunnen we het logo van Havaianas beter positioneren dan op de halo? Het is zo'n verstandige en logische ontwikkeling voor dit geliefde Braziliaanse merk, waarmee we gedurende het seizoen het strand bij geselecteerde Grand Prix-weekend naar de paddock zullen brengen. We zijn altijd al een avontuurlijk team geweest met onze marketinginspanningen en na de introductie van een roze livery in 2017 hopen we dat deze samenwerking met Havaianas de Formule 1-fans in 2018 aanspreekt."

Het logo van Havaianas staat ook bij een aantal Europese Grands Prix op de auto's van Force India en sowieso bij de Grand Prix van Brazilië, de thuisrace voor het Braziliaanse slippermerk.

    Je zou bijna denken dat de FIA meer rare dingen voor de auto moet bedenken die sponsoren aantrekken.

      Ik vind t het beste en grappigste wat ze kunnen doen, lekker die halo op de hak nemen door dit soort sponsors aan te trekken. Levert het iig nog wat op.
