Actueel weerbericht: kleine kans op regen tijdens kwalificatie

De kans is groot dat de kwalificatie voor de Grand Prix van Australië onder droge omstandigheden verreden wordt. Geheel zeker is dat echter nog niet, want verschillende weerstations geven een ander beeld over de neerslagkans tijdens de tijdtraining.

The Weather Channel geeft de kleinste kans op neerslag tijdens de kwalificatie, die om 17.00 uur plaatselijke tijd verreden wordt. Volgens het weerkanaal, dat onder andere door Apple als weerbericht op de iPhones gebruikt wordt, is er een kans van 10 procent op regen tussen 17.00 en 20.00 uur. MyWeather is iets pessimistischer en verwacht tussen 16.00 en 19.00 uur ongeveer één millimeter neerslag. Het Australische Bureau voor Meteorologie zit er met de verwachting tussenin: de kans op neerslag is ongeveer veertig procent, maar de verwachting is dat er niet meer dan 0,5 millimeter neerslag zal vallen tussen 17.00 en 20.00 uur.

Race hoogstwaarschijnlijk ook droog

Wat betreft de race zijn de weerbureau's een stuk meer eensgezind. MyWeather verwacht geen neerslag vanaf 16.00 uur, het tijdstip dat de race zal starten. The Weather Channel heeft een neerslagverwachting van 0 procent, terwijl het Australische Bureau voor Meteorologie een kans van 20 procent geeft op neerslag.
