Carlos Sainz: "Bahrein biedt kansen om in te halen"

Carlos Sainz hoopt dat Renault ook tijdens de tweede Grand Prix van het seizoen met beide wagens in de punten kan rijden. Sainz had een probleem met het water en werd misselijk tijdens de race, maar dat weerhield hem er niet van om Sergio Perez van zich af te houden en zo als tiende te eindigen.

Sainz: "Het is altijd belangrijk om tijdens de eerste Grand Prix van het jaar punten te scoren. En de snelheid was er ook. Zelf kreeg ik steeds meer vertrouwen naarmate het weekend vorderde. En ik weet zeker dat er nog veel mogelijkheden zijn met de setup."

Kansen om in te halen

Het stratencircuit van Bahrein zal weer totaal anders zijn dan het circuit van afgelopen weekend. Sainz kwam al drie keer in actie in Bahrein, maar wist nog nooit de finish te halen. Toch heeft de Renault-coureur er zin in: "Ik kan niet wachten om in de auto te springen in Bahrein. Het is eigenlijk een standaard ronde met wat vloeiende bochten en lange rechte stukken en dat zou kansen moeten bieden om in te kunnen halen. Maar het kon wel eens een uitdaging worden voor de remmen." Ook de condities staan hem aan: "Het altijd gaaf om 's avonds te rijden, dat maakt deze race uniek op de kalender."

Go Kart

Doordat de kwalificatie en de race 's avonds zijn biedt dat wat mogelijkheden voor ontspanning. Sainz heeft in ieder geval in gedachten om te gaan zwemmen en een rondje te gaan golfen, maar er is meer: "Er is ook een Go Kart baan naast het Formule 1-circuit en dat is één van de gaafste waar ik ooit op gereden heb."

  Off topic op racing365 staat dat gridgirls in Bahrein terugkomen maar dan samen met gridkids en ze mogen niet schaarsgekleed zijn . Dit zou Liberty hebben besloten. Een 1 april grap???

Het stratencircuit van Bahrein? Circuit Ligt midden in een zandbak! Sainz na in de war of verkeerd overgenomen.

Vorig jaar blu blunderde Sainz door Stroll eruit te kegelen.

Dit jaar wordt het hopen voor hem dat hij niet weer last van wagenziekte krijgt

Carlos heeft al een aantal kansen gehad in Bahrein. Maar de uitkomst in deze GP voor hem waren wat minder zeg maar. Hij zal z'n koppie erbij moeten houden as weekend.
