Singapore Airlines langer titelsponsor van Singaporese Grand Prix

Singapore Airlines blijft minstens tot en met 2019 titelsponsor van de Grand Prix van Singapore. Dat heeft de vliegmaatschappij bekendgemaakt. Singapore Airlines is sinds 2014 aan het evenement op het Marina Bay Street Circuit verbonden en verlengde al een keer eerder met twee jaar.

Dat is nu dus weer het geval. Singapore Airlines-directeur Goh Choon Pong: "Deze avondrace vormt het hoogtepunt van de sportkalender in Singapore en we zijn verguld om door te gaan als titelsponsor. We kijken ernaar uit om de Grand Prix van dit jaar onder de aandacht te brengen en een fundament te leggen voor toerisme en sport voor de zowel de Singaporese bevolking als voor bezoekers uit andere landen."

Formule 1-baas Chase Carey voegde toe: "Het doet de Formule 1 deugd om de samenwerking met Singapore Airlines te verlengen. De kracht van Singapore als bestemming is een voorbeeld van de opwinding die de Formule 1 wereldwijd teweeg brengt en dat we prestigieuze partners als Singapore Airlines weten te strikken bewijst dat onze ambitieuze visie gedeeld wordt door toonaangevende bedrijven van over de hele wereld."

De Grand Prix van Singapore vindt dit jaar op 16 september plaats.
