Onderzoek naar 'exhaust blowing' concentreert zich op Ferrari

De aankondiging van de internationale autosportbond FIA om scherper toezicht te houden op het aanwenden van uitlaatgassen voor aerodynamische doeleinden, het zogenaamde 'exhaust blowing', is ingegeven door de Ferrari SF71H. Dat bericht brengt Marca. De Spaanse krant meldt dat de auto van Ferrari anders klonk in de bochten tijdens het Grand Prix-weekend in China.

De technische afdeling van de FIA zou contact gezocht hebben met Ferrari en een onderzoek gestart zijn. "Er zijn verdenkingen dat de SF71H speciale motorstanden en 'engine maps' gebruikt voor een constante aanvoer van uitlaatgassen richting de achtervleugel en andere onderdelen die neerwaartse druk genereren aan de achterkant van de auto", schrijft Marco Canseco in Marca.

Nikolas Tombazis, een voormalig Ferrari-engineer die tegenwoordig in dienst is van de FIA, stelde de teams eerder al op de hoogte dat de bond maatregelen treft om dit soort praktijken de kop in te drukken. "We accepteren niet dat speciale motorstanden ontworpen worden om de aanvoer van uitlaatgassen in de bochten te vergroten. Zulke niet toegestane motorstanden kunnen betrekking hebben op het 'compressor-turbine by-pass'-systeem of op de toevoer via de cilinders. Zulke uitlaatgassen zijn alleen toegestaan als het gevolg van afstellingen die de performance of de betrouwbaarheid van de aandrijflijn vergroten en niet als het enige doel heeft om de aanvoer van uitlaatgassen te vergroten."

"Dat gezegd hebbende, we hebben niet het gevoel dat het praktisch of makkelijk is om een allesomvattende regel op te stellen om dit probleem in zijn geheel op te lossen. Daarom zijn we van plan om de motorstanden per geval te controleren en de teams om de nodige informatie te vragen om te zorgen dat ze binnen de acceptabele limieten blijven. Dit is natuurlijk geen oplossing die veel voldoening geeft, maar we hebben het gevoel dat dit de beste manier is om de situatie in 2018 te monitoren, helemaal omdat de impact niet al te groot is."

  Dat is juist wat F1 zo boeiend maakt. Ik vind het prachtig. Natuurlijk zullen ze weer iets in de regels zetten dat dit niet meer kan.

Volgens mij zie ik trouwens ook nog steeds een oliepluimpje bij Ferrari. Maar ongetwijfeld als er iets illegaal wordt gevonden maar Ferrari dan past de FIA de regels er wel voor aan.

nee geen lange tenen en ook geen grote voeten maatje 41 maar al die nieuwtjes met een Max brilletje op ruim [300 nieuwtjes] moeten toch een beetje Mercedes en Ferrari aanvallen dat zijn de hooligans bij de f1 die had je vroeger niet. Daarom krijg je tegenwoordig aparte Max tribunes en Stoffel tribunes, wij echte liefhebbers zitten gewoon door elkaar voor wie je ook bent. Mannen broeders groetjes en houd het gezellig.

  ik vind het positief dat ze het carnavaleske volk op 1 tribunen bij elkaar zetten hoor, zit dat volk in ieder geval met hun Heineken muts niet voor je op de normale tribunes.
  
  Of als wanneer max uitvalt dat ze continu voor je beeld doorlopen als ze tijdens de wedstrijd naar huis gaan.

  @ Chico, ja, je bent langer op dit forum als ondergetekende. Aangezien je voornamelijk op Ferrari berichten reageer wil ik je toch verwijzen naar een podoloog. Ik ga zelf trouwens ook. Niet voor lange tenen, maar wel voor kromme tenen als ik soms idd de pro Max, of anti iedereen reacties leess.
