Group Lotus benoemt Jean Alesi tot ambassadeur

De aanwezigheid van oud Formule 1-coureur Jean Alesi bij de onthulling van het definitieve kleurenschema van Lotus Renault GP voor 2011 was niet puur ceremonieel. De Fransman gaat bij Group Lotus aan de slag als ambassadeur en testrijder voor het Type 125-project.

Alesi: Het doet me deugd om de handen ineen te slaan met Lotus. Ik heb veel affectie voor dit geweldige Britse merk en ik heb vertrouwen dat ze mooie dingen zullen bereiken in de toekomst, zowel op als naast het circuit. Ik ben vooral gepassioneerd over alles wat mensen dichter bij de ervaring van racen brengt en dat is precies wat de Type 125 doet. Het is de ultieme race-ervaring en ik verheug me op testsessies in Vallelunga en Abu Dhabi.

Gino Rosato, director of corporate operations bij Lotus: Jean is al jaren een goede vriend, ik heb het voorrecht gehad om eerder met hem samen te werken en ik respecteer en bewonder zijn manier van doen. Met zijn Formule 1-achtergrond en connecties heeft hij veel te bieden en we kijken uit naar de samenwerking. Jean is volgens ons de perfecte ambassadeur voor Lotus.
