Liberty Media wil toetreding tot kalender voor nieuwe circuits laagdrempeliger maken

Er is nog steeds een reële kans dat de Formule 1-kalender vanaf 2019 uit meer dan 21 races bestaat. Veel teams en coureurs zijn huiverig voor de plannen van Liberty Media om de kalender verder uit te breiden, maar Liberty Media wil vooral een volle kalender. De eigenaar van de Formule 1 wil daarbij ook de kosten meenemen, voor het organiseren van een Grand Prix moet als instapprijs gemiddeld 20 miljoen euro worden betaald.

Het hoge instapbedrag is voor veel circuits een drempel om een Grand Prix te willen organiseren. De meeste van de huidige Grand Prix zijn op commercieel vlak geen succes en kosten meer geld dan dat het oplevert. De bestaande circuits zijn dan ook minder happig om een overeenkomst te sluiten voor een langere periode. Liberty Media onderzoekt de mogelijkheden om de kosten voor het instappen van nieuwe circuits lager te maken, maar schiet daarbij tegelijkertijd de bestaande circuits in het been.

Momenteel zijn er zeven circuits op de huidige kalender waarvan de overeenkomst binnen nu en enkele jaren afloopt. Deze circuits zullen proberen om nieuwe voorwaarden te stellen aan Liberty Media om de Grand Prix commercieel ook een succes te laten zijn.

      Jammer dat het iChallenge project te vroeg van start was gegaan, en met een aantal mensen binnen dat bedrijf die sommige procedures niet begrepen.

      Juust nu was voor dat project het juiste momenten geweest. Stiekem maar hopen op een durf ondernemer met verstand van zaken, die ergens in Flevoland of rondom Utrecht ergens een baan wilt neerleggen.

      Dat zal een veel realistischer kans bieden op een GP, dan op Assen of Zandvoort.

    Gewoon 1 vaste prijs voor elk circuit niks geen onderling verschil. Helft van kalender vast andere helft wisselend elk jaar.

      Dat is ook niet helemaal eerlijk opzich. Een race in singapore is commercieel gezien veel meer waard dan een race op de Hungaroring. Singapore geeft dan veel meer terug dan dat de Hungaroring het doet en dus is er een rendement verschil.
