Promoter Canadese Grand Prix tevreden over Liberty Media

Francois Dumontier, de promoter van de Canadese Grand Prix, is blij met de komst van Liberty Media als leider van de Formule 1. Dumontier had naar eigen zeggen een goede band met Bernie Ecclestone, maar de samenwerking met Liberty Media is van een ander kaliber.

"Bernie deed alles zelf", aldus Dumontier tegenover La Presse. "Toen Liberty Media het stokje overnam, veranderden de tijden. Zij hebben ervaring in de media en in het organiseren van evenementen. Ze luisteren naar de promoters."

Volgens de Canadese promoter is het knap wat Liberty Media in een korte tijd heeft weten te bereiken in de Formule 1. "Ze hebben een holle organisatie gekocht van Ecclestone en moesten vervolgens zelf alles opzetten; een aangepaste structuur, nieuwe afdelingen, het aannemen van mensen. Iedereen is nog lerende, maar de vooruitgang is al zichtbaar."
