Williams wacht zware thuisrace op Silverstone

Williams staat aan de vooravond van een zware Grand Prix van Groot-Brittannië. Dat stelt Claire Williams, teambaas van de renstal. Volgens Williams zit het team in een vicieuze cirkel en kan het nog wel even duren voordat er weer gepresteerd wordt.

"We hebben onze zakdoekjes meegenomen", vertelt Williams over de aanstaande Britse Grand Prix. "We moeten ons bodywork hier aanpassen vanwege de warmte, wat betekent dat we nog minder downforce hebben. Het is een vicieuze cirkel."

Voormalig Williams-coureur Felipe Massa ziet de prestaties van het Britse team met lede ogen aan. "Ze hebben het erg lastig", aldus Massa in gesprek met The Sun. "Ik hoop echt dat ze beter worden en dat ze hun problemen leren te begrijpen. Het doet pijn om Williams laatste te zien, maar ik ben tevreden met mijn beslissing. Ik ben blij dat ik weg ben en ik denk dat dit het juiste moment was."
