Geen 'triple-header' in 2019 na zware maand voor Formule 1-teams

De Formule 1-kalender van 2019 zal geen zogenoemde 'triple-header' bevatten. Dat stellen teambazen na afloop van de Grand Prix van Groot-Brittannië. De afgelopen drie weken was er ieder weekend een race en dat heeft de Formule 1-teams gesloopt. Hierdoor is besloten volgend jaar geen triple-header in te plannen.

"Iedereen is moe, maar we slaan ons erdoor", aldus McLaren-baas Zak Brown. Afgezien van de vermoeidheid, bracht de triple-header ook logistieke problemen met zich mee. Zo plaatsten veel teams motorhomes van het testseizoen op de Red Bull Ring, terwijl de grote motorhomes direct naar Silverstone werden gestuurd. "Ik denk dat dit jammer was voor de Oostenrijkse organisatoren", aldus Claire Williams. "Het toont aan dat we soms niet goed nadenken wanneer we dergelijke beslissingen nemen."

Liberty Media plande dit seizoen een triple header in om niet te overlappen met de finale van het WK voetbal, maar voor 2019 verdwijnt dit idee. "Mij werd verteld dat er in 2019 geen triple header is", aldus Force India's Otmar Szafnauer tegenover RTL.

      Zeker wel! Het WK voetbal wordt volgend jaar in Frankrijk gehouden van 7 juni tot 7 juli en Nederland doet vrijwel zeker mee. :-)

      Tja, ook een stuk minder weerstand bij de vrouwen he..

      Nederland doet het qua vrouwensporten altijd beter internationaal gezien, puur omdat we een rijk land zijn en vrouwen hier alle mogelijkheden hebben zich op topsport te richten in tegenstelling tot veel andere landen.. Bij de mannen liggen die verhoudingen iets anders..

    Als ze zo graag rekening willen houden met WK voetbal, dan moesten ze vorige week 'gewoon' 14:00 beginnen, ben je op tijd klaar voor de wedstrijden van 16:00. Finale is ook maar een wedstrijd, dan is de F1 wedstrijd al klaar om 17:00.

    Vond het wel lekker elk weekend F1. Snap dat voor de teams de rek er wel uit is na 3 weekeinde racen. Zal een logistieke nachtmerrie geweest zijn voor de teams.

    Logistiek gezien is het ook waanzin om van Frankrijk naar Oostenrijk naar Engeland te reizen. Er zijn betere en kortere afstanden te bedenken met alle circuits die nu op de kalender staan.

    Geen triple headers in 2019 maar wel een aantal back to back races en ik las dat LM maar liefst 23 races plant (zonder duitsland zelfs) dus welke behalve dan Miami erbij gaan komen ???

    Het moest toch eens getest worden en dit was ideale planning voor dat imo. kleine break nu, back-to-back en dan vakantie.

    Het is mij ook net iets te veel. Dan liever meer back-to back met vrij weekend er tussen.
