Pirelli selecteert hypersofts voor Grand Prix Mexico

Bandenfabrikant Pirelli neemt de hypersoft banden mee naar de Grand Prix van Mexico. Naast de zachtste compound zal Pirelli ook de supersofts en de ultrasoft-compound meenemen naar het Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.

De hypersofts werden eerder dit jaar gebruikt tijdens de Grands Prix van Monaco en Canada. In beide gevallen leek Mercedes niet goed om te kunnen gaan met het rubber. Het euvel met de hypersofts wordt bij Mercedes mogelijk versterkt door warme temperaturen.

Naast de Grand Prix van Mexico zal de hypersoft-compound ook gebruikt worden tijdens de Grand Prix van Singapore en de race in Rusland. Pirelli heeft inmiddels de bandenkeuzes bekendgemaakt voor alle races van 2018, behalve voor de Grand Prix van Brazilië en de seizoensafsluiter in Abu Dhabi.
