Langere DRS-zone op Spa Francorchamps richting les Combes

Tijdens de Grand Prix van België zal er een langere DRS-zone zijn op weg naar Les Combes. De achtervleugels van de Formule 1-coureurs zullen op het lange rechte stuk honderd meter langer opengeklapt kunnen worden. Dat meldt FIA-racedirecteur Charlie Whiting.

"Ja, de DRS-zone op weg naar Les Combes is honderd meter langer", aldus FIA-racedirecteur Whiting tegenover RaceFans.net. "De andere DRS-zone op het rechte stuk van start en finish doet denk ik niet zo veel."

"Ik heb een aantal discussies gevoerd met wat coureurs over wat we kunnen doen op Spa", vervolgt Whiting. "Het is niet realistisch, maar sommige rijders waren enthousiast over het idee om me teen open vleugel door bocht 16 en 17 [Blanchimont] te rijden. Ik weet niet of dit een goed idee is."
