Coureurs niet eens met Ricciardo: "Formule 1-weekend is goed zoals het is"

Pierre Gasly en Sebastian Vettel zien niets in een verandering van het huidige Formule 1-weekend. Dat stellen ze in gesprek met F1.co.uk. Daniel Ricciardo verklaarde eerder wel oren te hebben naar een andere opzet, maar Gasly en Vettel vinden de traditionele opzet de beste variant.

"Ik ben geen groot fan van een tweede race, want sinds ik geboren ben en de Formule 1 volg, was het een evenement met één race. Dit is de belangrijkste race van het weekend en je wacht op dat hoogtepunt. Ik denk niet dat de opzet veranderd moet worden, het is goed zoals het is."

Ferrari-rijder Sebastian Vettel is het met Gasly eens. "Ik hou van traditie, dus ik ben niet onder de indruk van dergelijke ideëen", verwijst Vettel naar mogelijke veranderingen. "Ik denk dat het wat van het spektakel weg zou nemen, de Grand Prix is geen hoogtepunt meer als er twee races zijn."

      Ik zie ook niks in een 2e race per weekend. Meer testdagen en testmogelijkheden voor rookie coureurs zou goed zijn!

      Je zou iets kunnen doen met de quali en daar punten aan koppelen. Dat kan de fabrikanten harder sturen richting de motor toch echt vol open te trekken in quali modus.
      Ik zie een 2e race ook niet echt zitten. MER en FER hebben zoveel extra dat zelfs bij reverse pole ze de andere 4 auto's echt wel inhalen. Dan lopen die nog harder weg dan nu al het geval is.

      Punten aan kwalificatie koppelen is alleen maar in het voordeel van de topteams. Ik ben daar echt op tegen. Dit geldt ook voor punten voor de snelste ronde. Even party modus aan en hup. Weer een punt voor een top rijder.
      Overigens wordt de winnaar van de kwalificatie nu al beloond. Die mag namenlijk van pole starten.
      Normaal ben ik niet zo conservatief, maar in dit geval wel: Geen veranderingen.

    Het dreigt erop te gaan lijken dat de door mij zeer gewaardeerde Daniel een beetje spijkers op laag water zoekt. Het denkt waarschijnlijk een voordeel uit dit idee te kunnen slaan in zijn persoonlijke voordeel.

    Ik vind het ook niks. Dit zijn ook allemaal van die overbodige zaken. Het enige wat we willen zien is een sport waar meer dan vier coureurs kunnen winnen.

    Niks geen 2 races. Gewoon 1 hoofdrace. Klaar.

    Wat misschien wel zou kunnen is het volgende :
    Na elke vrije training (3 in totaal) heeft iedereen de gelegenheid om op een speciale quali band een tijd neerzetten. Deze 3 tijden worden bij elkaar opgeteld en het gemiddelde van die tijd bepaald de startopstelling. Deze quali duurt dan 30 minuten.

    Ik mis de 12 ronden in een uur kwalificatie. Die echter in een half uurtje gaan gieten ipv een uurtje. Is voor de huidige jongere generatie nog net op te brengen..
