Renault kan niet rusten in strijd om het middenveld

Het team van Renault zal volle bak moeten blijven werken om de vierde positie in het constructeurskampioenschap veilig te kunnen stellen. Dat meent technisch directeur Nick Chester. Volgens Chester moet Renault voorkomen dat een resultaat als dat van Haas in Oostenrijk ze de vierde plek kost.

"We weten dat we dat niet kunnen", aldus Chester, wanneer gevraagd door RaceFans.net of Renault de focus kan verleggen naar komend seizoen. "We moeten blijven ontwikkelen. Er zitten een aantal zaken in de pijplijn die we introduceren na de zomer. Mogelijk kunnen we na de vijftiende of zestiende de boel herzien, maar dan zijn de meeste zaken al in productie."

"Het is simpelweg te krap", vervolgt de technisch directeur zijn verhaal over de strijd in het middenveld. "Een resultaat als dat in Oostenrijk kan je wegvegen. We moeten doorgaan en blijven pushen om meer snelheid in de auto te krijgen."

    Gewoon net anders om werken als wat Haas en Sauber doen . Alle onderdelen bij Red Bull kopen want die kunnen volgens bietenboel mee doen om de titel met de Renault motor .

    De huidige 4e plek is ze in hun schoot geworpen door de malaise bij FI en Williams die achteruit aan het racen is. Ze hebben er tot nu toe dus verdomd weinig voor hoeven doen. Als HAAS geen wheelgun troubles hadden gehad hadden ze gewoon 5e gestaan.
    Ik heb er dus ernstig mijn twijfels bij of ze de 4e plek kunnen handhaven met HAAS in de achtervolging.

    Haas met Grosjean en de mega blunders had dik voor Renault gestaan.

    FI was zonder problemen die ze hebben waarschijnlijk ook nog voor P5 aan het knokken.

    Renault heeft heel veel geluk gehad dit jaar en ik weet niet zeker of zie 5de stek een zekerheidje is dit jaar en volgend jaar.

    Heel veel geluk Danny je zal het nodig hebben met een flapdrol als Abitoel aan het roer.
