Nieuw motorenreglement voor 2021 mogelijk uitgesteld

Wellicht is het beter om het nieuwe motorenreglement voor 2021 uit te stellen, zodat andere motorleveranciers langer de kans krijgen om te besluiten over Formule 1-deelname. Dat zegt Ross Brawn, sportief directeur van de Formule 1, tegen Autosport.com. 

"We willen technische reglementen creëren die zowel bevredigend zijn voor de bestaande motorleveranciers als de nieuwe motorleveranciers en ik denk dat we er nog goed over na moeten denken of we dat voor 2021 echt voor elkaar kunnen krijgen of dat we het moeten uitstellen. We moeten er zeker van zijn dat de veranderingen er voor gaan zorgen dat nieuwe motorleveranciers zich gaan melden."

"Mijn gevoel zegt me dat er voor ons nog veel werk te doen is als het gaat om reglementen die betrekking hebben op de motor. We moeten op dat vlak beslissen of het tijd is voor een revolutie of een evolutie", aldus Brown.

vragen mensen ook zo vaak, maar ik ben toch al snel minimaal 12 uur p/d met mn bedrijf bezig. Dat mensen het niet zien wilt nog niet zeggen dat er niets gebeurt.

      Droom maar lekker door... hoe langer ze wachten des te groter de kans dat ze gelijk overschakelen naar volledige afschaffing van Fossiel, lees, “de verbrandingsmotor” , dus de kans groot is dat tussen 2025 en 30 F1 volledig elektrische is/wordt...

      Bschuit, tot die tijd heeft de formule e toch ook een volledige licentie lopen? Daar zouden ze met mijn voorstel (in mijn reactie hier) overigens mooi omheen kunnen werken.

      Is wel treurig allemaal inderdaad. Brawn's logica is ver te zoeken. Er zijn geen nieuwe fabrikanten omdat het reglement te ingewikkeld en duur is. Dan zegt 'ie het blijft zoals het is omdat er geen nieuwe fabrikanten zijn die willen instappen, en nu zegt 'ie we wachten met tot er misschien toch mensen willen meedoen.
      Er doen geen mensen mee omdat je de boel niet hervormd, Ross! Afwachten zal alleen maar betekenen dat anderen ook gaan afwachten.
      Zolang hij zijn oren laat hangen naar Mercedes en Ferrari, gaat het nooit wat worden in 2021

    Dit is hetzelfde geneuzel met de VAR bij voetbal. Duurde eeuwen, terwijl er miljoenen op het spel stonden.... Maar goed, hybride is pas sinds 2014, dus geef het nog maar de kans. Veranderingen steeds ook niet goed. Je ziet dat Merc al terrein verliest.

      Renault en Honda willen ook dat er niet veel gaat veranderen, dus de kans op een revolutie is 0,0. En ik begrijp het wel, want alle fabriekanten hebben miljarden aan ontwikkelingskosten stukgeslagen op deze belachelijk ingewikkelde motorformule, en zullen er daarom alles aan doen om hun gigantische investeringen te beschermen.

      En omdat men miljarden? euro's er tegenaan heeft gegooid, zullen we opgescheept blijven met deze veredelde grasmaaiers waar niemand op zit te wachten.
      Het gaat al lang niet om wat de fans willen, maar wat de fabrikanten willen. Money makes the world go...

      De laatste weken verschijnen er steeds meer berichten dat de z.g.n. nieuwe leveranciers afgehaakt hebben en dat alleen Porsche het nog serieus zou overwegen.
      Aangezien de huidige leveranciers allemaal op 1 lijn zitten en dus alles bij het oude willen houden zie ik het de komende jaren niet veranderen.

      Bij Porsche roepen ze al jaren dat ze belangstelling hebben om de F1 in te stappen, dat zijn meer loze praatjes dan serieuze belangstelling imo. Ondertussen stappen ze dit jaar wel de FE in, en komen ze mooi op alle fronten in de publiciteit, mooi wark van de pr afdeling.

      De grootste grap (pr) is toch Aston Martin, die af en toe ook net doen alsof ze wel willen instappen .. Dan neem ik Porsche toch nog wel serieus / serieuzer.

    Ze moeten niet uitstellen, maar de knoop doorhakken. Nu blijft het onduidelijk wat de regelementen zijn, en onduidelijkheid is nou juist iets waar de eventueel nieuw installende fabrikanten niet willen. Die willen duidelijkheid over de regelementen, en kosten. Nee, dit ziet er meer naar uit dat ze uitstellen omdat de FE een licentie heeft voor volledig electrische motoren, en dat ze deze kant opwillen. Mijn idee ... maak een budgetplafond, maar de motor regelementen, laat het vrij, dus wil een fabrikant electrisch rijden, dan mag dat, willen ze hybride blijven zoals nu, dat mag, maar willen ze een wankelmotor of een lekker ouderwets brullende V10 of 12, dan mag dat ook. Mits ze binnen het budget blijven natuurlijk. En zorg ervoor dat er door de bandenslijtsge minimaal twee pitsstops per race zijn. But ... these are just my two cents natuurlijk
