Jos Verstappen over Max: "Hij blijft ervoor werken om het volgend jaar beter voor elkaar te hebben"

Jos Verstappen mag dan steeds minder op de voorgrond aanwezig zijn als het gaat om zijn zoon Max, toch volgt hij hem natuurlijk nog op de voet. Zo zag hij ook de Grand Prix van België. In gesprek met Nu.nl laat hij zijn licht schijnen over de prestaties van zijn zoon. 

"Hij heeft het gewoon heel goed gedaan. De start was goed en daarna had hij enkele mooie inhaalacties. Vooral die op Esteban Ocon was erg fraai."

Red Bull is dit seizoen opnieuw duidelijk het derde team in de rangorde. Toch kijkt Max Verstappen volgens zijn vader al vooruit naar volgend jaar. "We moeten gewoon elke wedstrijd het maximale eruit halen. Zo benader je elke wedstrijd. Dat doet Max ook. En daarnaast blijft hij keihard werken om het volgend jaar beter voor elkaar te hebben."

"Natuurlijk wil je uiteindelijk voor de winst rijden. Als je realistisch bent, dan zit dat er momenteel niet in. Dan ga je gewoon voor het maximaal haalbare, want hoe meer punten voor het team hoe beter."

      RIC zit ook duidelijk al met zijn hoofd bij het zeer concurerende Renault, hij plempt zijn achtervleugel expres precies zonder de voorvleugel van Alonso.

      hij dacht bij zichzelf, dat zijn lekker weer 0 punten voor RBR en voor Renault lekker.... oh wacht waar stond Sainz ook alweer?

      maar toch istie zeer onder de indruk van de nobele praatjes... ik bedoel de progressie en ontwikkelingen bij Renault.

      Was het niet zo dat het inschrijfgeld voor volgend jaar bepaald wordt door het aantal punten dat je bij elkaar rijdt? Dus hoe meer punten, hoe hoger het inschrijfgeld voor het team? In dat geval is het het beste om met 1 punt verschil naar plek 4 de 3e plek te veroveren.

      Volgens mij is alleen de ranking belangrijk. Maar of je als derde team nou één puntje meer of minder hebt, maakt volgens mij niet uit, zolang je maar derde bent.

    Met een Honda motor zal het toch wel anders aanvoelen. Max zal toch weer aan het nieuwe concept moeten wennen. Hopenlijk hebben ze de race auto op tijd klaar om er aan te wennen.
