Sauber: "We willen het behoorlijk veel beter doen dan in 2010"

Het team van Sauber beleefde vorig jaar een goed slot van het seizoen. De komende jaargang moet het echter nog beter. Vanaf het begin af aan punten scoren, en het liefst in alle races, daar mikken ze in Hinwil op.

Teambaas Peter Sauber zei bij de presentatie van de nieuwe C30: "Het doel is om regelmatig punten te pakken, zo mogelijk in elke Grand Prix. Het is belangrijk dat we het bij de constructeurs aanzienlijk beter gaan doen dan vorig jaar."

"Het budget is gedekt en het is gelijk aan 2010. We hebben dit jaar wel vijftig meer mensen in dienst, waardoor ons totaal op 280 werknemers komt. Ondanks de aanwezigheid van Kamui Kobayashi hebben we moeite om de Japanse markt te penetreren, maar het is economisch gezien overal zwaar."

De Formule 1-kalender telt dit jaar twintig races, het hoogste aantal in de geschiedenis van de sport. "Dit is wat mij betreft het maximum. Twintig Grands Prix is veel, misschien wel te veel", aldus Sauber.
