Deense autoriteiten geen voorstander van Formule 1-race in Kopenhagen

Volgens de Deense Minister van Financiën Kristian Jensen zijn de autoriteiten in Denemarken geen voorstander van een Formule 1-race. Kopenhagen had onlangs nog een ambitieus plan op tafel gelegd om de Formule 1 naar de Deense hoofdstad te halen. Herman Tilke werd ingehuurd om wat lijntjes te trekken en Charlie Whiting was positief.

Whiting gaf eerder aan dat een Deense Grand Prix honderd procent tot de mogelijkheden zou behoren. Het zou gaan om een wedstrijd die vanaf 2020 op de kalender zou staan. Chase Carey was erg enthousiast over het project, dat onder meer een cross-over punt zou hebben. Toch is de overeenkomst afgeketst en zal Formule 1 niet naar Denemarken komen.

Het is niet de eerste keer dat een stratencircuit op de nominatie stond om gastheer van een nieuwe race te worden. De baan in Weehawken New Jersey op het Port Imperial Street Circuit was jarenlang de gedroomde kandidaat voor een race. Vele promotie-activiteiten hebben plaatsgevonden aan de oevers van de Hudson. Uiteindelijk werd de stekker uit het programma getrokken.

Met mogelijke races in Vietnam en Miami, een eventuele terugkeer van de Grand Prix van Nederland en een race in Las Vegas heeft Liberty Media nog enkele troeven in handen.

    Nee lijkt me ook niks, hetzelfde als Rotterdam/Delft het komt dan hier voor mijn huis voorbij maar laat maar zitten. Beter halen ze Maleisie/Turkije/Z korea terug. Of nog beter: de ring(circuit versie).

      Haha, alsof het een wielerronde is.

      Maleisië zou mooi zijn. Turkije gaat 'm niet worden omdat de almachtige Erdogan baas Chase Carey heeft misbruikt als verkiezingsbelofte. Zuid-Korea zit met haar hoofd bij Noord-Korea...

      Nu gaf Allard Kalff afgelopen week in Slipstream een opmerking waar hij op gaat terugkomen...

      Ik vind de ring ook wel een leuke optie, maar dan wel de volledige ronde. 20x ofzo. Bruut circuit voor de echte mannen! Dromen mag toch?

      Maleisië terug zou geweldig zijn. Die zat altijd bij mijn top 3. Een circuit waar je als goede rijder een verschil kan maken en waar je goed kan inhalen. Maar Liberty wil liever een optocht erbij vrees ik. Silverstone en Monza zijn ook niet zeker voor 2020. Straks alleen nog maar stratencircuits waar je van in slaap valt tijdens een race. Belachelijk!

    Ik denk dat de Gp van Nederland er wel aan zit te komen na t volgende jaar , Maleisie mag van mij ook terugkomen en Miami zal er koste wat t kost doorheengedrukt worden
