Hülkenberg: "Flow van circuit Sotsji is prettig en snel, dat vind ik fijn"

Komend weekend staat de Grand Prix van Rusland op het programma. Nico Hülkenberg scoorde daar vorig seizoen voor de tweede keer punten namens Renault en hij kijkt dan ook uit naar de race op het Sochi Autodrom.

Hülkenberg vindt het fijn om terug te keren naar Rusland. Het lange, bochtige semi-stratencircuit in Sotsji bevalt de Duitser wel, zo liet hij in zijn voorbeschouwing op de race weten. "Het is een van de langere rondjes van het jaar, met veel bochten. Dat geeft je een uitdaging, want je moet zoveel mogelijk goede bochtencombinaties aan elkaar rijgen. Vooral in de kwalificatie geldt dat."

"De flow van het circuit is prettig en het is snel, dat vind ik fijn. Je opent de ronde met een lang recht stuk en een hard remmen voor de eerste bocht, waarna een lange bocht linksaf volgt. Daarna volgt een sectie met snelle bochten. De laatste sector is langzamer met een paar 90-gradenbochten. Je moet de temperatuur van de achterbanden goed in de gaten houden, maar verder is het een leuke ronde."
