Video: Een jaar geleden: Bottas wint zijn eerste Grand Prix

Aankomend weekend staat de Grand Prix van Rusland op het programma. Na een pauze van twee weken gaat zondag op het Sochi Autodrom de zestiende race van het seizoen worden verreden.

Met nog zes races te gaan, lijkt Lewis Hamilton hard op weg te zijn naar zijn vijfde wereldtitel. In Singapore vergrootte de Engelsman zijn voorsprong op Sebastian Vettel van 30 naar 40 punten. In Rusland zullen de twee titelkandidaten echter ook rekening moeten houden met de concurrentie.

Zo zal Vallteri Bottas er op gebrand zijn om zijn tot nu toe teleurstellende seizoen een goede draai te geven en daar lijkt de race van aankomend weekend een uitgelezen mogelijkheid voor. Vorig jaar won de Fin op het Sochi Autodrom namelijk zijn eerste Grand Prix.

    Weet je, iedereen op de grid had met deze uber "taxi" en race kunnen winnen. Deze magere successen dit jaar van Bottas geeft aan dat het geen bijzondere coureur is.

      Geeft aan dat de team prioriteiten zijn veranderd nu Ferrari een sterke auto heeft. Los daarvan heeft Kimi ook nog geen deuk in een pak boter gereden.....Geen bijzondere coureur?

    Sinds de komst van dit circuit alleen nog maar Mercedes winnaars. De statistieken zitten al mee voor hem! Maar ben benieuwd of hij zijn winst van afgelopen jaar kan prolongeren. Ham is in topvorm en denk dat het lastig voor Bottas gaat worden hem te verslaan. En ik denk dat ook Vettel er alles aan wil doen om de winst te pakken.

      Bottas is al bevestigt voor volgens seizoen, dus denk ik dat jij daar niet over gaat.;)

    Zo slecht is Bottas natuurlijk ook niet. Gewoon een beetje het type Webber. Werd in zijn Williams tijd echt als talent gezien en was Massa duidelijk de baas. Maar presteren naast Hamilton is nu eenmaal super moeilijk, vraag maar aan Rosberg en Alonso. Daardoor lijk je al vrij snel een grijze muis, al helemaal als je er (op zn Fins) ook uitziet als een grijze muis.

    Toch had ik natuurlijk veel liever Ocon gezien in die auto. Bottas gaat nooit beter worden dan dit, Ocon wellicht wel.

      Verschil is wel, dat Rosberg kampioen is geworden naast Hamilton. Dat gaat Bottas denk ik niet lukken.

      Dat heeft Rosberg meteen 20 jaren van zn leven gekost met die psychologische oorlogsvoering tegen Hamilton , Ik zie bottas dit niet doen idd

      Daar ben ik het ook niet mee eens. Alonso had zelfde aantal punten en Rosberg bleef ook altijd in de buurt en is zelfs een keer kampioen naast Hamilton geworden. Bottas blijft te ver achter vind ik.

      Dat klopt Kingcreole. Je denkt altijd (tenminste ik denk dat altijd :-) ) dat Max en Daniel de restjes oppikken en sporadisch een meevallertje hebben, maar ze doen het qua overwinningen nog altijd beter dan de beide Finse vrienden in een veel betere auto.
