Vettel en Red Bull Racing grijpen naast Laureus Awards

Sebastian Vettel en Red Bull Racing zijn bij de Laureus Awards niet in de prijzen gevallen. De wereldkampioenen Formule 1 bij de coureurs en bij de constructeurs zijn niet verkozen tot Sportman van het Jaar en Sportploeg van het Jaar.

In beide categorieën legde de Formule 1 het af tegen Spanjaarden. Tennisser Rafael Nadal ontving de Sportman van het Jaar Award. Hij won in 2010 drie van de vier Grand Slams. Bij de teams dolf Red Bull Racing het onderspit tegen de nationale voetbalselectie van Spanje, die in Zuid-Afrika de wereldtitel veroverde.
