Regelveranderingen tijdens World Motorsport Council van 12 oktober 2019

De World Motorsport Council kwam afgelopen vrijdag bijeen om de veranderingen voor het komende seizoen te bespreken waarbij het grootste deel van de bespreking zich concentreerde op de kalender voor het volgende seizoen. Deze is inmiddels op onze site gepubliceerd maar er werden ook andere aanvullende wijzigingen in het reglement aangebracht.

Extra verlichting aan achtervleugel:

- De WMSC kondigde officieel aan dat Formule 1-auto's van volgend seizoen met een extra verlichting op hun eigen eindplaten zullen rijden. Dit is tijdens de tests in het midden van het seizoen al getest met de bedoeling om te zien hoe deze verlichting zou werken bij lichtomstandigheden op een laag niveau. De lichten moeten helpen met de zichtbaarheid van de voorganger. Dit zijn volgens het WMSC geen remlichten.

Afspraken met de F1 Strategy Group:

- Wijziging in de regelgeving betreffende de spiegels. Ferrari was eerder dit jaar een wijziging opgelegd nadat hun interpretatie betreffende de bevestiging van de spiegels was afgekeurd.
- Wijziging ten behoeve van de positionering van de on-board camera.
- Kleine veiligheidswijziging aan de Halo.

De wijzigingen betreffende het sportreglement:

- Wijziging aan de Safety Car-voorschriften betreffende het punt waar de Safety Car terugkeert naar de pits. Dit heeft te maken met het punt waarop er door coureurs ingehaald mag gaan worden.
- Teams zullen zelf verantwoordelijk zijn voor de eerste technische controle van hun auto's. Voordat de auto's de baan op gaan moeten teams verklaren dat ze voldoen aan alle veiligheidsgerelateerde zaken.
- Het officiële signaal voor het einde van de race zal nu een lichtpaneel zijn, hoewel de zwart wit-geblokte vlag nog steeds getoond zal worden.

Buiten technische wijzigingen worden de gedwongen sluitingstijden van het team verlengd van acht naar negen uur voor elke nacht tijdens een Grand Prix-weekend.
