Arrivabene wijst verhalen over gespleten Ferrari van de hand

Voor het tweede seizoen op rij dreigt het seizoen als een nachtkaars uit te gaan voor Ferrari. Wederom spelen er geruchten over een gespleten Ferrari op, maar teambaas Maurizio Arrivabene wijst deze verhalen resoluut door naar het rijk der fabelen.

Voor de zomerstop waren Ferrari en Sebastian Vettel nog volop in de race voor de twee titels, maar met nog vier races te gaan zijn beiden ver uit het zicht geraakt. Vettel moet 67 punten goedmaken op Lewis Hamilton, terwijl Ferrari een gat van 78 punten moet overbruggen richting Mercedes. Daardoor gaan er weer verhalen op dat het crisis is in Maranello. Arrivabene zou volgens de geruchten zijn biezen moeten pakken, terwijl Vettel ook moet vertrekken als 2019 tegenvalt.

Ook gaan er verhalen over ruzies tussen Mattia Binotto en Arrivabene, maar de teambaas vertelde aan Sky Italia dat daar niets van klopt. "Voor mij is dit een beetje een grappig verhaal. Zodra de dingen niet gaan zoals we willen, wordt er gesproken over een gespleten Ferrari. Ik heb het al heel vaak gezegd en hopelijk is dit de laatste keer: discussies zijn prima, maar ze hebben niets te maken met een splitsing binnen het team."
