Gasly hoopt in Abu Dhabi voor Red Bull Racing te testen

Pierre Gasly hoopt dat hij in Abu Dhabi in de testsessie na het einde van het seizoen voor Red Bull Racing kan testen. De huidig Toro Rosso-rijder rijdt volgend seizoen voor de grote broer en zou graag al vroeg kennismaken met de auto. Daarnaast kan hij alvast de banden voor volgend seizoen testen. 

"We zijn het inderdaad aan het overwegen om in Abu Dhabi al te gaan testen, maar er is nog niets bevestigd. Natuurlijk zou het fijn zijn om dan te testen voor Red Bull Racing, zelfs al is het met de auto van dit jaar. Dan kan ik alvast beginnen te werken met mijn engineer en met het team. Volgende week of de week daarop zou ik uitsluitsel moeten krijgen of ik kan gaan testen."

Gasly reed in 2017 in Hongarije voor het laatst voor Red Bull Racing. Hij reed toen in de RB13. De Fransman is niet de enige die hoopt dat hij in Abu Dhabi kan testen voor zijn nieuwe team. Ook Kimi Raikkonen (Sauber) en Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) zouden graag voor hun nieuwe werkgever willen testen.

    Op de laatste alinea, volgens mij wilde Sainz en Ricciardo ook voor hun nieuwe werkgever testen en vermoedelijk zal Stroll zich hier ook bij gaan voegen als de officiële bekendmaking zal plaatsvinden van zijn overstap. Persoonlijk vind ik dat Red Bull Ricciardo de kans moet geven, ik zie hier geen voordeel in voor ze om het niet te doen, tijd voor een nieuw hoofdstuk laat het verleden in het verleden.

      Ze zouden met ric het net zo kunnen doen als in de MotoGP. Compleet sponsorloos zwarte of witte auto en witte overal.

      Het gaat om een banden test, er mogen geen onderdelen worden getest voor 2019.
      Volgend jaar rijden ze met een andere auto, en andere motor.
      Ik denk niet dat Ricciardo er heel rouwig om is, die gaat lekker van z'n vakantie genieten.

      Dat RBR Riciardo niet laat testen voor Renault snap ik wel.

      Eerst zeggen ik teken bij jullie, ik blijf, filmpjes opgenomen en dan ineens uit het niets tekend ie bij Renault.

      Dan zou ik m ook niet eerder laten vertrekken om voor de concurentie te testen.

      Ik snap het ook wel maar ik zou het als Red Bull zijnde lekker laten gaan, verspeelde energie. Zowel Renault als Ricciardo zijn dan eigenlijk verleden tijd, de beste revanche op beide kun je beter op de baan geven in 2019.

      In de MotoGP gebeurd deze zogenaamde lastseasontest switch heel vaak. De reden dat ze vaak in het zwart of wit rijden is omdat dat prototypes zijn met onderdelen van 2019 of omdat persoonlijke sponsoren conflicten met de 2018 sponsoren van het team.

      Persoonlijk vind ik dat iedereen tijdens een Pirellitest de auto zwart moet spuiten. Zou dit soort switches een stuk makkelijker maken op commercieel gebied + het is een test voor Pirelli waarin eigenlijk geen enkel team van elkaar moet zien dat ze met "de oude bolide" al super rap zijn op nieuwe Pirelli's

      Je denkt dat teams niet meer weten welke auto er rijdt als ze zwart gespoten zijn ?

      ten eerste kan je aan de vorm wel zien welke auto er rijdt.
      ten tweede kun je zien uit welke pitbox deze vertrekt.

    Gezien de hele voorgeschiedenis, de manier waarop Ricciardo naar Renault is gegaan en het feit dat Abitebull weigert om met RBR te praten geloof ik daar niet in. Een beetje vergelijkbaar met James Key. Contract uitdienen en niet zeuren.

    Logisch dat alle rijders die overstappen willen testen bij het nieuwe team en ervaring kunnen opdoen tijdens het testen van de banden. Vanuit Red Bull is al aangegeven dat Ricciardo niet hoeft deel te nemen aan de bandentest en die zal wellicht bij Renault gaan testen. Bericht van Red Bull zal niet lang op zich laten wachten.

      Is het niet zo dat als Ricciardo wel voor Renault mocht gaan testen dat er eerst een seatfitting plaats vindt, waarbij ook de zitpositie, pedaal afstelling en al dat soort zaken de Revu passeren?...
      Als dat zo is dan is het toch logisch dat ze (RB) de concurrent niet in het zadel helpen door Ricciardo vrij te geven?
      Elke voorsprong die je kunt nemen zonder een meter te rijden, is ook een voorsprong;)

      Horner zei dat Renault vroeg of RIC beschikbaar is voor hun bandentest. Antwoord was, nee hij is niet beschikbaar. (Nog onder contract en andere werkzaamheden staan nog op de lijst).
