We krijgen in 2020 een nieuwe Grand Prix te zien. Gisteren werd bekendgemaakt dat de hoofdstad van Vietnam, Hanoi, de plek zal zijn waar een nieuwe stratenrace gaat plaatsvinden. Met deze race breidt de Formule 1 zijn invloed in Azië verder uit.

Het mag dan wel een stratenrace heten, maar het nieuwe circuit is niet te vergelijken met bijvoorbeeld Monaco. Met 5,5 kilometer is de ronde een stuk langer en daarnaast zijn vele secties van de baan geïnspireerd op bochtencombinaties van andere circuits op de Formule 1-kalender. Daarnaast bevat het stratencircuit twee lange rechte stukken.
