Vettel: "Vrijdag verliep oké, op loszittend schroefje na"

Sebastian Vettel was tijdens de eerste twee vrije trainingen in Brazilië goed voor de tweede en derde positie. Toch ging het achteraf vooral over het grappige radiobericht die de Duitser stuurde naar zijn team over een loszittend schroefje.

Tijdens de tweede vrije training vertelde Vettel dat er een loszittend onderdeel tussen zijn benen zat. "Er zit iets los tussen mijn benen en dat is niet het ding dat daar normaal zit. Er vliegt iets rond mijn voeten. Ik zou trots zijn als het is wat je denkt dat het is, maar dat is het niet", vertelde de Ferrari-coureur aan zijn teamleden.

Vettel vertelde na de vrije training dat hij door had dat zijn woorden verkeerd begrepen konden worden. "De grootste zorg van vandaag was een schroefje dat loskwam, waardoor het tussen mijn voeten terechtkwam. Toen ik die tekst zei, hoopte ik dat niemand het verkeerd opvatte. Daarom zei ik het opnieuw. Dat was wel grappig. Uiteindelijk vonden we het kleine schroefje."

"Buiten het schroefje was het oké", vertelde Vettel verder over zijn vrijdag. "Ik reed aardige ronden en ik denk dat we veel over de banden geleerd hebben. We moeten de auto verbeteren want het voelt nog niet goed, dus er is nog wat werk te doen. Als we de balans in het goede raamwerk krijgen, kan de strijd zaterdag en zondag spannend worden."
