De laatste race in Abu Dhabi volgende week is letterlijk om de keizers baard, vooral vooraan het veld. In Mexico haalde Lewis Hamilton al de rijderstitel binnen, terwijl daar in Brazilië de constructeurstitel voor zijn team Mercedes bijkwam. Het was alweer het vijfde jaar achter elkaar dat beide kampioenschappen werden binnengehaald.

Dat betekent zeker niet dat het went voor het Duitse team. Op het hoofdkwartier in Brackley zijn beide kampioenschappen namelijk weer goed gevierd. Ook werd de blik alweer op volgend jaar gericht. Zo zei Hamilton: "Wanneer onze concurrenten meer power en energie meebrengen, dan brengen wij nog meer mee. Laten we daar voor gaan."
