Ross Brawn ziet de toekomst van de Formule 1 positief in

De simulatortests van volgend jaar laten positieve resultaten zien. Dat suggereert Ross Brawn. Er zijn voor 2019 een aantal veranderingen doorgevoerd aan de auto's, zodat er beter en makkelijker kan worden ingehaald. Zo zullen de voorvleugels eenvoudiger worden. 

"We hebben met de teams al veel simulatorwerk gedaan en het blijkt dat de effecten echt merkbaar zijn. Maar we zijn ons ervan bewust dat het echte bewijs natuurlijk pas in maart te zien gaat zijn, wanneer we het seizoen gaan starten met de Australische Grand Prix", zegt hij tegenover Autosport.

"De veranderingen die we hebben geïntroduceerd, zijn een belangrijke eerste stap, maar het zal zeker niet de laatste zijn bij het vaststellen van de nieuwe technische en sportieve reglementen, die de toekomst van de Formule 1 op lange termijn zullen bepalen."

"Het is een voorproefje van wat we in 2021 allemaal willen doen en we zijn er tevreden over wat we voor 2019 al hebben bereikt. Het is duidelijk dat we hoge verwachtingen hebben, ook van de korte termijn", aldus Brawn.

    Da's wel bijzonder, omdat tot nu alle teams roepen dat het allemaal niks helpt en enkel bakken met geld heeft gekost.
    Ik vrees dat de teams gelijk krijgen en dat close racing echt niet bevorderd wordt door de 2019 regels.

      Misschien dat het iets scheelt, maar je zult altijd een boel downforce verliezen als je er dicht achter rijd.
      Maar als ze niks doen weet je zeker dat het zo blijft.
      Maar de voor vleugel zou een stuk smaller mogen.
      De bochten snelheid zal wat omlaag gaan maar de snelheid op het rechte stuk wordt weer hoger.
      Het voordeel voor de betere remmers.

      Bla bla.......ja als je niet verder kijkt dan Abu Dhabi 2018 , ziet het er goed uit , maar de financiele toekomst van de race circuits ziet er belabberd uit net als de sportieve toekomst met een teveel aan regels en een onzinnige motoren formule, en dan nog die belachelijke straf regels.

    Ik hoop het.

    Ik vrees echter dat ze de huidige auto's hebben genomen, dan alles eraf gehaald wat niet meer mag, maar vergeten dat de teams andere oplossingen vinden en die toevoegen.

      Achter de auto zul je nog steeds veel vuile lucht hebben, maar het is de vuile lucht die nu veel naar de zijkant wordt gevoerd die ze kwijt willen.
      Als je je tegenstander wilt uitremmen zul je als je er schuin achter rijdt dus minder downforce verliezen dan nu het geval is.
