Calderon doet extra ervaring op in testsessie voor Sauber

Het zit erop voor Tatiana Calderón. De Colombiaanse testte het afgelopen weekend twee volle dagen voor het team van Sauber. In totaal reed ze 202 ronden over de zaterdag en zondag en daarmee legde zij 594 kilometer af. De 25-jarige GP3-coureur vond het een interessante ervaring en denkt dat de tweedaagse test haar heeft geholpen in haar ontwikkeling. 

"Het was een interessante test. In de ochtend focusten we ons op kwalificatie-simulaties en in de middag op de long-runs. Over het algemeen zijn deze twee testdagen voordelig geweest voor mijn ontwikkeling en ik heb waardevolle ervaring opgedaan."

Die ervaring kan Calderón voor de toekomst goed gebruiken. "Het team heeft zowel mij als het programma dat ik moest uitvoeren goed voorbereid en ik voelde me zowel in de auto als op het circuit comfortabel. Ik kijk er naar uit om hetgeen wat ik dit weekend heb geleerd in de praktijk te brengen."

Ze mag dan niet het grootste talent (onder de vrouwen) zijn, ik vind haar doorzettingsvermogen toch wel bewonderingswaardig!

      En voor Sauber, er zal best wel wat dollars op de bankrekening gezet zijn voor zo'n test.
      En waarom iemand als testcoureur aanstellen als de persoon nog geen super licentie punt heeft?

      Tijden zijn zover ik weet niet bekend gemaakt. Daarbij zegt dat niet al teveel. Het was op het circuit van Fiorano

      Tijden zeggen niks. Ze schijnt trouwens behoorlijk zuiver te rijden en ook wel snel te zijn, maar dat zegt helemaal niks over haar capaciteiten als racer in een veld vol auto's. Luca Badoer was ook een uitstekende testrijder en snel zolang hij alleen was. Als GP rijder was hij niet veel.
