Jenson Button voegt zich bij presentatieteam Sky Sports in 2019

Jenson Button keert in 2019 terug in de paddock van de Formule 1. De wereldkampioen van 2009 neemt niet plaats achter het stuur van een bolide, maar komt het presentatieteam van Sky Sports versterken.

Button reed tussen 2000 en 2016 zeventien seizoenen in de Formule 1 namens Williams, Benetton, Renault, BAR, Honda, Brawn en McLaren. In 2009 pakte hij met Brawn GP dus de wereldtitel. In 2017 keert Button eenmalig terug tijdens de Grand Prix van Monaco als invaller voor Fernando Alonso. Tijdens de afgelopen Britse Grand Prix was Button al namens Sky Sports aanwezig, terwijl hij de rest van het jaar besteedde met racen in het WEC en het Japanse Super GT.

Bij Sky Sports krijgt Button een flink aantal ervaren krachten als collega's. Martin Brundle, Damon Hill, Paul di Resta, Anthony Davidson, Johnny Herbert en Nico Rosberg hebben ook allen veel ervaring op het circuit als Formule 1-coureur.

      Channel4 heeft anders ook dit laatste jaar laten zien dat je kwalitatief en onpartijdig verslag kan brengen van F1. Jammer dat ze er mee stoppen. Veel inwoners van het VK gaan F1 compleet missen dankzij de betaalmuur, want ik zie de Engelsen nog niet zo snel hun schotel draaien naar het Duids/Luxemburgse RTL.

      Ja goed idee, met Gijs van Lennep, Huub Rothengatter, Jan Lammers, Jos Verstappen en Robert Doornbos. En om dat te betalen, laten ze alle kijkers betalen. Oh nee, dat willen de kijkers niet en genoemde “presentatoren” zijn allemaal Fanboys van Max en in Nederland is het niet toegestaan om positief te praten over een lamdgenoot.
      Jammer, ik vond het net zo’n goed idee.

    Nico geen succes , Hill wel aardig, Coulthard zo ,zo. Zit eigenlijk niet zo te wachten op weer een oud coureur, alleen Brundle is een dikke voldoende... Maar ok, je moet iemand eerst een kans geven, maar Button??? Mm, ik kwee niet hoor

    Ze hebben het geprobeerd een duo verslaggeving maar liep waarschijnlijk stuk op het ego van Olaf of Olav Mol dan wel Moll.

    Dit zijn altijd nog minder spelfoutjes dan de versprekingen en niet gezien of verkeerd gezien fouten, RIC pitstop niet gezien waar Max was bij de start.
