FIA-racedirecteur voltooit circuitinspectie in India

Charlie Whiting, wedstrijddirecteur bij de internationale autosportbond FIA, heeft het nieuwe circuit nabij Delhi met een bezoekje vereerd. De Brit was zeer te spreken over de vorderingen van de baan die op 30 oktober gastheer is van de eerste Grand Prix van India.

De grondlaag van het circuit is gelegd en op 15 maart legt men in India de asfaltlaag. De uitloopstroken naderen voltooiing. Aan de infrastructuur wordt ook gewerkt. Whiting kwam om te controleren of alles volgens schema verloopt. De laatste inspectie vindt op 30 juni plaats.

Sameer Gaul, directeur van race-organisator JPSI: De progressie sinds het vorige bezoek van meneer Whiting is enorm en iedereen, inclusief meneer Whiting, is tevreden over waar we momenteel staan. We kijken uit naar de Grand Prix van India en de baan is voor de deadline klaar.
