Testupdate Abu Dhabi (2): Teams maken zich op voor de middagpauze

Alhoewel er geen middagpauze in het schema staat, nemen verschillende teams toch even gas terug. Toro Rosso heeft Danill Kvyat naar binnen gehaald, zij zullen vanmiddag weer op de baan verschijnen. Er zijn nog geen incidenten geweest die tot een rode vlag-situatie hebben geleid.

Kvyat heeft inmiddels 51 ronden gereden in de Toro Rosso. Valtteri Bottas is met zijn Mercedes het meest actief tot op dit moment. Verder hebben bijna alle coureurs er al een Grand Prix-afstand op zitten.

Charles Leclerc is op dit moment al sneller dan de snelste tijd van gisteren. Sebastian Vettel reed 1:36.812 op de hypersoft-band. Leclerc is op dit moment met 1:36.559 de snelste. Momenteel is nog niet duidelijk op welke band de voormalig Formule 2-kampioen deze ronde gereden heeft. Pirelli maakt aan het einde van de dag de snelste tijd per coureur bekend en hierbij vermeldt de Italiaanse rubberfabrikant ook de bandensoort waarop deze gezet is.

Robert Kubica gaat in de middag vervangen worden door George Russell. De Poolse coureur, die in 2019 een comeback zal maken in de Formule 1, heeft er op dit moment bijna een Grand Prix-afstand op zitten.
