Pirelli wil de show in de Formule 1 in 2019 gaan verbeteren

Een aantal coureurs klaagden er eerder al over dat de banden van volgend jaar niet heel anders aanvoelen dan die van dit jaar.

Zo zei Vettel bijvoorbeeld dat Pirelli kan zorgen voor meer verschillen tussen de teams gedurende de wedstrijden, door te bepalen welke banden zij meenemen en de motorsportbaas van Pirelli, Mario Isola, is het daarmee eens.

De Italiaan laat weten dat de show in de Formule 1 gaat verbeteren, omdat het plan is om de selectie aan banden gevarieerder te laten worden.

"Het design en de compounds zijn al vastgelegd, maar we kunnen voor iedere specifieke Grand Prix natuurlijk wel de bandensoorten veranderen", aldus de motorsportbaas van Pirelli. "Ik heb hierover gesproken met de teams en de rijders en hoewel er geen duidelijke richting is waar iedereen heen wil gaan, wil ik de teams wel betrekken bij het selectieproces", zegt Isola.

Doe dat dan ook gewoon! Sla gewoon compounds over, zodat er een grotere kans is dat we meerdere strategieën te zien krijgen ipv de standaard 1 stoppertjes.

    Ik ben hier wel sceptisch over. Als je kijkt wat Pirelli dit jaar voorspelt en wat er in de races gebeurt zit er altijd een behoorlijk verschil. Oorzaak daarvan is natuurlijk niet alleen Pirelli, maar ook de teams die het langste uit de band rekenen... Ben benieuwd wat 2019 hierin brengt!

      Doe gewoon wat Michelin al jaren doet in Motogp. Die hebben 3 verschillende type banden ontwikkeld en kies maar welke je gebruikt. Zowel rijstijl als chassis bepaald dan waar je auto t beste op presteert. Bijvoorbeeld in de Motogp zie je Zarco vaak een veel zachtere keuze doen dan zijn collega's op t zelfde merk maar Honda kiest daarentegen vaak voor de hardste band omdat ze meer vreten.

      Nu zijn 3 types wat weinig voor F1, omdat hun voor en achterbanden niet mogen verschillen, dus maak er maar 5 van.

    Doe dat dan ook gewoon! Sla gewoon compounds over, zodat er een grotere kans is dat we meerdere strategieën te zien krijgen ipv de standaard 1 stoppertjes.

      Ik dacht dat ik gelezen had dat de supersoft er sowieso al uit gaat. Dat is dan alweer een gat van één compound..

      Volgend jaar zijn de namen bij elke GP Soft, Medium en Hard. Pirelli maakt met nummers aan de teams bekend welke band het “eigenlijk” is.
