Sauber begon al vroeg aan de ontwikkeling van de auto van 2019

Het team van Sauber heeft goede verwachtingen voor het 2019-seizoen, aangezien het Zwitserse team al vroeg is omgeschakeld naar de auto van aankomend seizoen. Sauber was de verrassing van vorig seizoen en teambaas Frederic Vasseur wil in dit jaar minstens dezelfde resultaten halen als in 2018.

"We zijn al vrij vroeg tot het uiterste gegaan als het om onze auto van aankomend jaar gaat. We hebben iedereen al vrij snel aan de auto laten werken van 2019. We hebben goede verwachtingen, echter treden er drastische veranderingen op in de reglementen. Dus je weet het nooit helemaal zeker."

"Je kunt de verkeerde richting nemen en dit pas begrijpen tijdens het testen in Barcelona, aangezien niemand weet wat de anderen doen. Mijn gevoel is zeer positief en ik heb het gevoel dat we week na week blijven verbeteren en met dezelfde doelstelling die we ook in 2018 hadden. Ik weet niet of de anderen het beter doen of niet, maar wij doen het in ieder geval goed."

Sauber eindigde in 2018 op de achtste plek, maar maakte wel de meeste vooruitgang. "Ik wil niet zeggen dat dat mij niets boeit, maar het gaat mijn kijk op het seizoen niet veranderen. We vechten ons richting de top-10 en op het gebied van de teams tussen de vierde en de zesde plek. In 2019 moeten we dat minimaal bereiken. Dan wordt in ieder geval het doel."

Volgend seizoen ook een leuk rijders duo dus ik zie niet in waarom je niet deze ambities moet hebben.

Ik heb werkelijk nog nooit een groter optimisme gezien dan deze winter bij alle teams, wordt zeker dringen om de ereplaatsen.

Ooh, ik ben zo bang dat het tegenvalt, want ik wil mss wel tè graag dat Sauber t goed doet in 2019. Hoop dat ze iig chronisch om Q3 kunnen meedoen. Of is het -bedenk ik me nu ineens- vanaf dit jaar ook Q4??
