Button maakt bekend dat hij voor de eerste keer vader wordt

Jenson Button, wereldkampioen Formule 1 van 2009, heeft bekendgemaakt dat hij en zijn verloofde Brittny Ward samen hun eerste kindje verwachten. Dat maakte de Brit wereldkundig op social media. Voor de 38-jarige Button, die aankomend weekend 39 wordt, is het de eerste keer dat hij vader wordt.

Zoals gezegd werd het nieuws op social media bekendgemaakt. "Brittny & I are Delighted to announce the new edition to the family currently having his first seat! Look how comfy he looks!" schreef Button op Twitter. De Brit laat weten dat hij en zijn verloofde verheugd zijn om het grote nieuws bekend te kunnen maken.

De Formule 1-carrière van Button ligt inmiddels ver achter hem en het lijkt er daarom op dat hij aan een uitbreiding van het gezin is gaan denken. De voormalig wereldkampioen bouwt op dit moment een sportscar-carrière op in Japan. In 2017 reed hij in het Super GT Championship, waar hij in 2018 voor Team Kunimitsu uitkwam en de titel won samen met Naoki Yamamoto.

Raar dat er "eerste keer vader" in staat. Alsof hij allang eerder vader had moeten zijn. Of alsof hij er méér gaat krijgen. Rare aannames.
