Norris is zich ervan bewust dat hij zich nog moet bewijzen in 2019

Lando Norris gaat aankomend seizoen bij McLaren zijn debuut maken in de Formule 1. De Brit is zich er echter van bewust dat hij veel werk moet verzetten om zijn plek in de koningsklasse van de autosport te rechtvaardigen.

Norris is bij McLaren de vervanger van Stoffel Vandoorne en wordt de teamgenoot van Carlos Sainz. De Spanjaard vervangt op zijn beurt zijn landgenoot Fernando Alonso. Norris eindigde afgelopen seizoen als tweede in de Formule 2, achter Williams-coureur George Russell. Hij is zich er echter van bewust dat hij zich nog zal moeten bewijzen in 2019.

"Ik moet het goed doen en zal moeten laten zien dat ik het verdien om in de Formule 1 te rijden. In de ideale wereld waarin ik perfect zou zijn, zou ik in staat moeten zijn om iedere teamgenoot die ik heb te verslaan, in iedere race. Het is echter onwaarschijnlijk dat dat gaat gebeuren."

"Ik ga niet in die situatie terechtkomen. Vorig jaar is daar een goed voorbeeld van. Ik heb in 2018 niet de rijderstitel gewonnen in het Formule 2-kampioenschap, dus toen leerde ik al dat ik niet altijd kan winnen", aldus Norris tegenover Autosport International.

Als je naar bovenstaande foto kijkt, zou je zomaar kunnen denken dat hij het begin van het seizoen niet eens gaat halen ;)

    Ik verwacht dat hij de vloer zal aanvegen met Sainz.

      Ik verwacht dat Sainz hem meer dan de baas zal zijn.
      Als je de F2 een beetje gevolgd hebt dan weet je dat Norris niet een ster in kwalificeren is geweest, in F2 kan je makkelijker plaatsen goed maken dan in de F1. Ik vond Norris sterk racen, maar overall zeer vergelijkbaar aan Albon en de Vries.

      @ Coen81: Als ie dat doet is hij beter dan Max, want dat is Max niet gelukt. Max was wel beter dan Sainz, maar heeft zeker niet de vloer met hem aangeveegd. Daarnaast heeft Carlos zich natuurlijk ook verbeterd in die vier jaar. Jouw verwachting lijkt me dan ook eh...niet erg realistisch zullen we maar zeggen.

      Echt he, Nog werkelijk helemaal niks laten zien in de F1 en dan ben je ervan bewust dat je je nog moet bewijzen.....

      -De aarde is rond
      -iedereen gaat dood
      -belastingdienst

      Beetje hetzelfde allemaal :p

      Je mist zo´n grote kans hier. Had dan gezegd dat Chuck Norris eigenlijk zijn vader is en dat ze beide onsterfelijk zijn :p
