Toro Rosso presenteert de nieuwe auto online op maandag 11 februari

Het team van Toro Rosso heeft bevestigd dat het zijn auto op maandag 11 februari online zal gaan presenteren. In eerdere jaren wachtte Toro Rosso vaak pas tot op het laatste moment om te presenteren, maar daar is het dit jaar dus vanaf gestapt.

Het Italiaanse team gaat dit seizoen met een geheel nieuw rijderspaar racen. Zo zal voormalig coureur Daniil Kvyat terugkeren. De Rus werd aan het eind van 2017 uit het Red Bull-programma gegooid en spendeerde 2018 als ontwikkelingsrijder van Ferrari. 

Alexander Albon gaat zijn teamgenoot worden. De Engelse Thai was in 2012 ook al onderdeel van het Red Bull-programma. In 2018 eindigde hij als derde in het Formule 2-kampioenschap, achter McLaren-coureur Lando Norris en Williams-rijder George Russell.

      De achterwielophanging misschien, de rest van de auto zal volledig anders zijn dan die van Red Bull.

      Ze krijgen de achterkant van de RB14 maar ik ga er vanuit dat de RB15 niet hetzelfde zal zijn aan de achterkant als de 2018 versie.

      Nee hoor, ze krijgen de achterkant van de RB14. Had ik laatst met een discussie al een linkje over gestuurd en heb geen zin om opnieuw te zoeken. Het kwam er in elk geval op neer dat RB altijd zoveel mogelijk tijd gebruikt om te ontwikkelen en TR daardoor simpelweg niet eens tijd zou hebben om RB15 onderdelen te implementeren

      Uiteraard gaat Kvyat voor WK punten. Snelle coureur die waarschijnlijk
      nu een goede wagen tot zijn beschikking krijgt met een sterke motor.
