Vijay Mallya uit onvrede over gang van zaken bij rechtszaak

Force India-oprichter Vijay Mallya heeft op Twitter opnieuw zijn onvrede geuit over zijn rechtszaak. Mallya, die met Kingfisher een groot bedrijf had, is het niet eens met de gang van zaken.

Mallya raakte in eind 2007 betrokken bij de Formule 1 door het team van Spyker over te nemen. Hij gaf het team de naam Force India mee en onder het bewind van de Indiër werkte het team zich vanuit de achterhoede op richting de top van de middenmoot. De afgelopen jaren kwam Mallya vooral in het nieuws door de problemen die zijn bedrijven hadden. Tevens werd hij zelf verdacht van fraude.

Op Twitter uitte Mallya vrijdagochtend zijn onvrede over de rechtszaak. "De DRT Recovery Officer heeft onlangs mijn persoonlijke vermogen geschat op 1,6 miljard euro. Dit is toch te gek voor woorden? Het geëiste bedrag was mijn volledige vermogen, dit was volgens hen destijds 1,1 miljard euro. Waar is de rechtvaardigheid? Elke ochtend word ik wakker met een nieuw attest van de Recovery Officer ter waarde van 1,6 miljard euro. De banken eisen echter slechts 1,1 miljard. Hoe ver moet dit nog gaan? Is dit verantwoord?"

Daarna spreekt Mallya over de Indische overheid en de advocaten van de banken die in Engeland de rechtszaak tegen hem hebben aangespannen. "Wie is verantwoordelijk voor het op zo'n brutale manier uitgeven van overheidsgeld aan juridische kosten? Ironisch genoeg is het de Indiase staatsbank die in Engeland de al afgedekte schuld wil vereffenen. Schandalig!"
